Although I’ve always been quite the fan of Star Wars I don’t find the space invadors attacking the fall collections (Star Wars prints trending at both Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Rodarte this season) all that interesting. I guess I’m sort of fed up with that particular source of inspiration since it wasn’t too long ago we saw it on the runway. Jonny Johansson did his version of The Clone Wars for fall 2010 and Nicolas Ghesquière’s Sci-Fi sweats for Balenciaga fw12 made me (well, all of us after a while, no?) sick. Now, I LOVE Ghesquière but I never really understood those in the first place.
With that said, if you’ll be able to look past Darth Vader showing up every now and again Preen by Thornton Bregazzi really have made some beautiful pieces. The three looks seen above are actually some of my absolute favourites so far from the fall collections.
Speaking of grey, I featured this jersey body as one of my top picks for spring in the latest issue of STYLEBY. Really like this neckline (yepp, inspired by Altuzarra) and the texture. Not really sure if it will look exactly like this in stores but I know it will be avaliable in both grey and white.
